Introduction

Samik Electronics, as the first manufacturer of electronic display in Korea, has led Korea’s new media industry by pioneering the electronic display market. Through continuous research and business innovation, Samik Electronics has developed the level of Korean electronic display technology to a world-class standard. With pride of Korea’s first and best, we have kept ‘the customer surprise through the highest quality and service’.

Samik Electronics recognizes that the corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an essential factor to become a sustainable company. Therefore, we have enacted the code of conduct and implemented it as a principle of our employees to apply CSR into corporate strategy, culture and business as a whole.

The code of conduct consists of six sections, which are CSR Management System, Human Rights and Labor, Environment, Fair Operating, Product and Customer, Community Development, respectively.

This code of conduct applies to all employees at Samik Electronics, and we strongly encourage the third parties including our business partners to comply it. Since the contents that are not covered in this code of conduct or require further explanation are regulated in the internal regulations, you can be informed by relevant divisions.

All employees at Samik Electronics will make every effort to comply with this code of conduct.

Ⅰ. CSR Management System

1. CSR Commitment
Samik Electronics recognizes the importance of corporate social responsibility for enhancement of sustainability, which is essential management activities, and operates CSR related policies and strategies.

2. CSR Integration
Samik Electronics considers CSR related opportunities and risk factors when making important decisions, and implements CSR into operations and strategies.

3. CSR Evaluation
Samik Electronics sets the goals for periodic review and continuous improvement to CSR performance, and manages performance against goals with KPI.

4. Stakeholder Engagement
Samik Electronics identifies key stakeholders that are influencing the company, and continuously applies key concerns on CSR.

5. CSR Reporting
Samik Electronics transparently provides stakeholders with CSR performances.

Ⅱ. Human Rights & Labor

1. Respect for Human Rights
Samik Electronics protects and respects the human rights of its employees, and treats them with humanity. We identify the negative effects of human rights of its employees, and prevent them.

2. Resolving Grievance
Samik Electronics identifies the complaints and grievances of its employees, and deals with them promptly and fairly. We operate a resolving system that allows its employees to file legitimate grievances against the organization without fear of retaliation.

3. Non-Discrimination
Samik Electronics shall not discriminate its employees on the race, color, sex, age, language, property, nationality or national origin, religion, ethnicity, social and economic background, disability, pregnancy, labor union affiliation, political view, marriage, family, sexual preference, health condition and etc.

4. Conditions of Work
Samik Electronics meets all legal conditions such as wages, compensations, working hours, holidays, and makes an effort to improve the quality of life for its employees.

5. Social Dialogue
Samik Electronics guarantees the freedom of association, and promotes social dialogue. Employees can exchange opinions with its top management on working conditions, business practices without fear of retaliation, intimidation, harassment, and share their complaints.

6. Safety and Health
Samik Electronics provides its employees with a safe and healthy working environment. We promote the physical, mental, social well-being for our employees, and conduct systematic activities to prevent and manage the health damage caused by the working condition.

Samik Electronics fully supports the job training and human development for its employees to improve the ability and self-confidence required to achieve their goals in a changing working environment.

1. Prevention of pollution
Samik Electronics obeys the environment laws and regulations, and strives to prevent the pollution. We systemically promote the pollution source and media-related activities such as air, water, soil, waste and hazardous chemicals.

2. Sustainable Resource Use
Samik Electronics not only decreases the cost of resources by reducing resource use, but also minimizes the environmental impact. We recognize the condition of resource use and manage it, and make an effort for efficient resource use.

Ⅳ. Fair Operating

1. Anti- corruption
Samik Electronics rejects all types of corruption including bribery, conflict of interest, fraud, money laundering, embezzlement, concealment and interference of law enforcement. We do not provide or accept the bribe or any means of similar activities to take improper profits.

2. Fair Competition
Samik Electronics complies with the principle of fair competition, and strives to prevent stakeholders from any damages by unfair competition that fails the market and distorts the way of competition among companies.

3. Respect for Property Rights
Samik Electronics respects intellectual property. The transfer of technology and know-how is achieved in a way to protect intellectual property rights.

4. Protection of Privacy
Samik Electronics protects everyone’s personal information (Partners, customers, employees and etc.) related to corporate management in reasonable level.

5. Promoting CSR in the Supply Chain
Samik Electronics has a positive effect on society by promoting CSR over the organization’s reach. We strive to promote and spread CSR in the supply chain for value chain activities such as procurement and purchasing.

Samik Electronics recognizes that products and services can have a significant effect on consumers’ health and safety directly, and strives for consumer’s health and safety.

2. Sustainable Consumption
Samik Electronics strives to comprehend the effect that products and services can bring to customers and society, and to minimize any negative effects on society. And, we are willing to solve social problems through our products and services.

3. Customer Complaint and Dispute Resolution
Samik Electronics builds an official response process against customer complaint and dispute, and manages them promptly and fairly.

Samik Electronics actively engages in CCI(Corporate Community Involvement) activities that simultaneously create corporate and social value through strategic CCI in regards to core corporate competencies.
